Light and Structure
These 6" x 8" images are created on paper and later mounted onto cradled panel. They are small enough so that I can quickly arrange the structure of the image. Some of the paintings have a direct reference to the landscape while others have a more ethereal reference, one that is ephemeral and fleeting.
Color studies are so important to my process. I will be uploading them regularly over the next few months, mostly as a visual journal of how color shifts when layered. I'm also diving into Joseph Albers' Interaction of Color, a book I consistently return to when I am in color study mode.
